Objectives and Contents
|
Students acquire knowledge of fundamental relations and approaches in logistics and production. They develop an understanding of applicable solution methods and develop the ability to transfer corresponding planning tasks into formal models and solve these using suitable methods.
Students gain an insight in decision support processes based on optimization results.
Contents include strategic, tactical and operational planning problems in production and logistics, their classification in the company context and suitable methods for solving them. This concerns in particular:
- Location and layout planning
- Inventory management
- Production planning and control
- Transportation and route planning
- Supply chain management
- Fundamentals of linear and mixed integer programming
- Heuristics and problem-specific methods
